some friends,...

last

break, three.

dear all,
can i not continue on my australia trip because i am darn lazy to load the pictures and squeeze my brain juice because half of the things i did, said, saw, ate...i cant remember names. lets leave it at that.
realised these past few days have been a trying one. i have been easily annoyed, disgusted, irritated, and all that...that makes my face look pathetic and f.ugly
love, me.

dear irene,
so lets go over this together.
IRENE LEWIS!
learn the art of selective listening, the art of eliminating thoughts, and the art of the "tidak apa attitude" and you'll find that all your problems, worries and what not [yeah mostly the damage done by other people] would fly away. life is short for people but the way they irritate you makes your life long. but live life. -.-
i feel the chinese side of me is prevailing through the emoticons i use. haha! what else is chinese in me ay?
YEEEEHAA! *like what the boys say*
sad but true, my final year in school, again. and till i plan or intend of furthering my studies again, i should enjoy school life while its still stuck by me. yes i complain about my crazy mad timetable but... no buts there!
lets go over this one more time.
stop complaining. irene, think about the people who dont even have the opportunity to study, think about the people who struggle but still try and make ends meet, think about those who would rather suffer than complain, think about it irene.
you are a big girl now. laugh a little.
love, me

break, again.

WHAT ANNOYS ME MOST...
this is the part,...
.....when a coversation is taking place over SMS, [how pathetic, i know] but then out of the blue, you just stop, leaving the damn conversation half hanging
.....when i cannot focus on assignments because facebook and msn is smiling at me, and then i use it till im so damn satisfied and hit the assignment after [like whats going on at the moment]
.....when assigment is due tomorrow and i am too lazy to comprehend my own written nonsense!
for most, i am annoyed at people. but damn boy, i get annoyed at myself perhaps equal or less.
cant top the chart of how you* do it best though.
i miss a lot of things. i miss what was once a part of my life. i miss and i continue missing.
i learnt.... when in doubt, keep silence. IRENE SHUT UP!

break.

i for irene.
irene is caught up with assignments, that is due weekly.
irene is only home to sleep for most, eat if there's food and sleep again.
irene is busy.
irene has a lot on her mind, and she wants to purge it all out. but right now irene is trying to work on a mini case study due monday.
irene will be back, for more.
tune in.

day seven: sea world and surfers paradise makes me happy.

sea world with edwin, mel and jada!

we were happy for two reasons:
-we had company, mel and jada with us! :)
-we didn't need to take the buses and trains! :)

zoe greeted us as we walked in, she so cute; same height!

[before i continue with the shows we went for, my aim was to sit in front and get spotted when they called for volunteers! kiasu, i know]
we were early and so the first show we went for was the fish detectives...
i tell you these sea lions are really smart creatures!

they are so smart, they can salute, clap hands, and pretend to scan the crowd [you know with one hand above on your forehead?] they are just way too cute!

what a poser ay?

and this little sketch was really nice, its amazing how these animals coordinate with human.
sometimes i feel like they can out.do us.
so i really cant get over the fact that they are so cute. =/

oh and there were these annoying birds that came so close to us, waiting for us to just drop one bit of food, or whatever and they would zap it so fast. and some people were being typical asians, feeding these birdies with popcorn. -_-

but these birds are like wallpapers. they pose. instant.

yeap, we went for the sesame street show too, and i actually enjoyed it.
sing.a.long...yah!
but this time around, more kids than me, so shy wanna volunteer. :p
haha!

and then we went for the dolphin show, i tell you it was spectacular!
how i wish we had dolphins in malaysia and i would gladly volunteer myself just to be close to these animals.

the show was so good that even when it started to rain, i sat still watching it.
so i was drenched after the show. =/

and yes this is possible! only professional.
so people, the last time i went to bali, i had friends asking, "did you hold their fins and did they take you on a spin?"

eyes glued to the show, as usual, not many pictures taken.
and yes my hand went up so fast when they asked for volunteers, what luck, a girl seating pretty close me got it, perhaps the ladies view was low and i was seated midrange.
i remember how i volunteered myself when i was in singapore sentosa island to be upclose with the pink dolphin. my hand went up so fast, or rather there weren't many people who wanted to volunteer and then i had to do the hoola.hoop before they allowed us into the water. and i didn't bring a change of clothes which equals to irene walking around wet after that. but the experience was so good, i got to feed the dolphin, pet it, and yes closing touch, pink dolphin awa [my lingo, kiss] me.
anyhoo, back on track
while we were walking, we saw these three girls on the adventure.
total time for adventure = 40 minutes.
we stood watching = 20 minutes.
yeah, we now know what you pay the AUD225 for, and honestly, not really worth it.
my bali experience was better than this. :)
but i must say that the dolphins in sea world are so well trained, i think they are smarter than us humans. :p
started to rain again, we ran to get shelter in the ray reef.
shaded area but pretty smelly. :x
oh they actually allow you to touch them, and so i did.
of course, i wanted to get my hands on any animal i saw. hah!
stingray's body feels so smooth and soft.

oh and highlight, i took a picture with a sea lion.
professional shot.
and i asked the lady in charge, "can i hug him?"
so comel, who wouldn't want?
my souvenir from sea world was the picture.
i so love it, because he posed just the way i like it. :)
again we shopped pretty much.

and since i did not get to swim with dolphins again, i bought a 40" dolphin. (;
you can imagine it, and how i brought it through the customs, on the plane, and back home.

and one for the record....

then we went to...
yearp, am pointing smack at it!

the beach was amazing, and if only we spent more time at the beach.
the wind, was crazy!

and then i saw a rainbow. and for the first time in my life, it was a complete rainbow. no photo made but it was complete. full. nice!

i insisted on a picture, rainbow and me. :)

the angle we positioned ourselves to make photo was so that our face would not be covered with hair, edwin exceptional. :p
and here is me, tanned.
sun-kissed not, sun-well.done

sea world and surfers paradise was good stuff.
we had dinner at a fancy restaurant and were too tired after that..

hour drive home and komatose.

day seven was much enjoyed by me, the dogtag, the picture with the sea lion, the dolphin show, the acrobats and pirate show, the stingray, the rain, the wind, the food, the rainbow, the company - great!

intermission: my happy song

train - hey soul sister

i learnt that happiness can be found within yourself. frankly, you don't need anybody to make you happy. you can make yourself happy. you can, if you try. the thought of depending on someone else to make you happy shouldn't be a thought at all.

yes, i did depend on people to make me happy, because being around friends especially, can and will make you happy. but happiness starts with you.

today a friend asked me why i was so happy because i was singing and smiling away, and i really did not know what to tell her. i was just happy and yea, no one did anything to make me feel that way.

'hey, soul sister' is my happy song. perhaps the lyrics might not make sense to you and me, but it does tingle me in some way. but honestly speaking, the lyrics don't make me happy, its the tune. didn't i tell you the simplest things makes me happy? :)

have a listen and a happy day ahead.

day six: lets be kanak kanak riang, again! who said it was wrong, right? right right.

wednesday
i was really looking forward to the adventure we were going to go on.
the night before, i got the details of the route we were going to take.
yes, purely public transportation.
the beauty of their public transportation...
you key in your destination, in my case it was eight mile plains to movie world.
yes movie world it was! :)
and then it listed 4 options for you to pick from.
together with the timing, the switch of public transport, the walking distance, the e.t.a and everything lah!
and in the morning we missed the bus by a few minutes, joy.
yes, the run up of events that made us late; woke up late, couldn't walk any faster to the bus station and the ticket lady didn't know how much to charge us [yes, she delayed it!]. so we missed the 7.50am bus. -_-
we waited for the next bus, eta 8.20am. alright sit there, shake legs, play with the camera.
oh must tell, eta was 10 ish. which meant we were going to take 2 freaking hours to reach there.
betahan, i was thinking, by the time we reach, i would be tired. no syok!
so the journey was going to be, bus-walk-train-switch-train-bus-walk
=/ no comments on that, that was the nicest option for us.
and because we missed the bus at 7.50am, we also missed the train and we ended up waiting more than ever, which gave us ample of time to make photos.
what a beautiful shot !

i will get to the interesting part... we reached!
excited.nya, until the sleepiness and tiredness stayed on the bus while we got down smiling end to end while looking at the big board.
so everyone makes a photo with this sign.
one for me. (:

while i was finding the counter to check in, because we bought our tickets online at a good rate, edwin decides to snap snap a this beautiful moment.
if only we were gempak, we would have sang our anthem while standing at the jalur gemilang.
but a nice shot i must say..

then he finds me at the counter, filling up the form, because we got this endless summer pass, that gives us free entry to both movie world and sea world till the end of june, they needed to make sure that no one uses our pass, but us!

make photo again, duh!

TADA!
attached with our picture.
i thought what..that the picture was for office use, that kind.a thing.a.ma.bob.
little did i know they stuck it there. =/
not the best shot, she did not say 1,2,3 neither did she say smile.
so i stoned.

movie world was amazing, i really felt like i was in another world altogether.
the set up and the whole decor was really cool, surely plenty of money into making the props.
its the feeling you get when you step inside. its different in so many levels.
damn it, hard to explain. just go there, see for yourself. :)
yes, so many things to do; shows to go for, shops to visit, rides to go on, food to eat..etc
i felt like one day was not suffice.
just as we walked in, we saw shrek!
yes we made a nice picture with him.
sadly i have yet to scan it, my bad!

we went for the shrek movie.
and everyone i know who has gone for it without fail would tell me, "go for the shrek show, you can feel it when horsy sneeze"
yea, the 4D was good stuff. they very maju doh.
then we saw this wall, you know...
you watch movies, and there's always a scene where the bad guy runs and climbs over a wall, and without fail again, a big bin would be there.
correct? :p

my version of the show.
i took on a slightly different angle.
i tried to blend in with the wall because i couldn't climb over. fail ah?

walking around, we saw catwoman.

yes she is some hot stuff, i tell you.
doesn't talk much though, unlike my encounter with flash, he spoke to me about malaysia.
how cool is that? (;

and so like any other themepark/world, there were rides.
yes, i dig rides, unlike someone else. :p

i went on three rides, all alone. :(
but it was good, no less.

superman, batman and scoobeeeeeedo!

story time a bit.

the scccccooobeeedoobeedo ride was cool, first ride that went backwards and then it did a mini fall down. it was dark and i just screamed. a wagon with a couple, no good because they were silent. so too bad, i screamed and screamed and laughed, all by myself. good fun no less.

then came the superman ride. alright, two lovely ladies told me to go on it, of course i needed too. and it was so fun. what i liked about it was how before you tumble toss and scream, they take you inside a dark place and tell you a little story but who listens anway?

only thing i remember was out of no where, we just stopped, like before a take off, and then it said, "there is only one way out of here and it is fast. superman"

i screamed and it was literally like superman saving your life from harm but then he decides to take you on a detour, ah i enjoyed it so much. would have gone on it again if i had kaki to go with, but waiting alone, no fun.

but the superman ride, was awesome!

and the last ride i went on was the batman ride. yeah basically going up. and it felt like though i was screaming, it just faded with the wind. but syok lah!

the stunt driver was really cool, i honestly dont dig cars but this was really good.
i enjoyed it. though it was raining.
no pictures were taken as we didn't want to miss a thing.

before we left, we watched the stars come out and mingle.
yeap, what you see here is bugs bunny holding my hand, but the camera didn't catch the next thing he did.
yes, he gave me a kiss on my hand. how sweet.
i wonder how mr. bugs bunny looked though. (;
but he was so cute.
funny, how he just walked up to me and held my hand so gently and kissed it.
if only a photo was made.
that is why i need a photographer on standby. :)

and then i quickly said, hurry take a picture!
because tweety bird didn't come my way. :(
i wish she did though, i am her fan. :)

daffy was being so naughty, he made a little child cry, yea directly next to me and he ran away, so i couldn't make a photo with him.

look at him, so mischievous right?

we shopped so much. oh wait i did. :p
i finally found something with my name on it, yes a mug.
and i also bought tweety and sccooobeedobeedooo!
and how can i forget my superman too. you should see it sometime.
and it is fast

fats was such a sweetheart to pick us up when we were done, so hoora! no buses and trains. :)
an absolutely fantastic day being a kid on day six, i didn't want to leave.
can we go back there? i still have my pass. =D

day five: dollar, be good! :)

like how mama says it, wakey wakey!
but we slept in a little longer and had a late breakfast.
[late means: 9am australian, count backwards, you get malaysian timing]
still early though, we walked down to coffee club, about 5 minutes away?
smarter this time, we didnt over eat, we tapau.ed leftovers.
we went home and waited for fats to come home.
after all the google.ing and calling up, we decided to go to mount tamborine for our horsy adventure.

an hour drive away, into a deserted area, kampung like.
travelling in the ute, hair all over the place because of the breeze, so nice. :)

and then we reached mount tamborine, thunderbird park.

i was scared we wouldn't be able to make it on time, but we did.
as you know, no malaysian timing there and everything goes by appointment. =/
yes because it was not a 5 minute drive, we used the refidex.
another thumbs up for me because i know how to read it now. :)
no, it is not as easy as you think it is.
anyhoo, we reached there. yes, that matters!
on time some more [this is conversational language ya!], another cherrie for us.
so we went on a jungle horse trail.
an hour for AUD65.
which was pretty okay, wasn't the cheapest according to my search but it was perhaps the best offer.
yes, only jim and i went on it.
we were all geared up, check out the shoes. :D
oh the helmet is classic, wish i didn't wear that, it only made me look round, dah lah i look round, don't go there!

the lady briefed us on how to handle the horse. and now it was up to us, and how we handled it in the jungle. not easy i tell you, speaking through experience that is. :)
say hello DOLLAR!
dollar is 16 years old, and a real manja pot.

so they taught us the basics; horsy go, horsy stop, horsy turn left and right.
oh and a must, when horsy wants to pee or poo, you lift your bum up so that horsy can do it better.
yes horsy doesnt walk and do its business!
of course my case was a little special.
my horsy loved eating and everytime he saw grass, he would go down.
yes, and when horsy does that, you pull his neck up so he continues walking.
check out his spots, he looks gorgeous! :)

and so once we entered the jungle, no camera's.
well i wanted to bring it along but dollar was being very very hard.to.handle
no i handled him well because i was master. cheewah!

the trail ride was fun.
going up hill, dollar gallop.ed.
down hill was scary because i was so high up i always felt like dollar was going to topple me over. heh!

oh and when we went through the stream, dollar wanted to drink water, so badly.
and everyone had to wait for him.

along the way, he also pee.ed and poo.ed which was something new to me because i have never ridden a horse that needed to do that, ah, while i was riding i mean.

i tell you, dollar was just like me, in so many ways, so says fats. :)
hahaahah!

oh and i actually climbed up and down dollar without anybody's help. that's because they actually teach you how to do it. yes, unlike the horses you ride along penang beach, the man wouldn't teach, he would just push your bum over. :x [again, i speak through experience]

and the best part, when i got off dollar, my legs were aching, and yes i couldn't close it for a few minutes, painful ay! yes walking kangkang isn't at all lady.like, what you expect me to do?

overall, the experience was awesome!

we did a little sightseeing in mount tamborine later that evening and then we headed home.

we went to the butcher to buy meat to barbeque that night.
oh and the butcher was good looking.

yeah unlike the old indian uncle you see at the market, this was a young well built guy who didn't have a neat hair [just the way i like it] and a pleasant smile.

i walked out of the shop, "oh my, he is so good looking"
and because i went with the 'cousins', oh they wanted to go back into the shop.
yes, a mini chaos outside the butcher shop.

but yes, the butcher was a good looking guy.
first guy i actually stared at. :p

time flew and day five was over before i knew it. my my!

Sunday, March 07, 2010

day four: bring on the city, boy!

rise and shine!
it was going to be city day.
woke up, too early.

we walked to the bus station, eight mile plains.
okay it was perhaps a good five minutes walk, but betahan i tell you.
when i reached the station, i was sweating and panting.
mmm, yes we were in a rush to be precise.

so destionation before the city was UQ.
UQ is amazing, and i have always wondered what if i went there, what if?

alright, lets not head that way.. back on track

so before we headed for the city, i wanted to spend more time UQ, mainly because i wasn't going to be studying there but i still wanted the feel of it? okay maybe you don't get it.

so we had breakfast at one of the cafes. too many, i forgot what it was called.

mmmm, enjoyed breakfast. i was so full, i wanted to sleep. yes it goes that way. -_-

we hopped onto the citycat to go to queens street.
nice ride, nice wind, nice weather. :)

yes i am holding a map!
MAP
not for show, i can read it.
nah, not rocket science.

juices, yum!
you name it, we tried it. :)
till it worked my tummy and the rest needs no explanation.
hahaha!

and because i mixed my coins up, i had to dig my purse to get an AUD coin.
yes, no handbags.

mr. face man is giving the biggest grin across right?
dont stare, he might stare back at you. (;

funny how every shop i entered, every top or piece of clothing that i saw, i converted it back to ringgit.
oh yes, it was very sickening!

dont blame me, do you?
not my money doh!

yes we walked every street, almost.
and we came across this board.
nasi goreng, it seems.

was it kmart?
yeah cute isn't it? all lined up for easter. they are fast! real fast.
and its cheap too. so we grabbed it. :)

oh and then we landed in a very interesting shop called lush.
so let me do a little promoting here. after all i think i can do it, i mean modenas thought me good.
lush sells handmade cosmetics.
and they are trying to go palm oil free.
i know it looks so nice right??
i went bezerk in there shopping for people.
yearp, but i only got a bar of soap for myself. -.-
secretly wish i went back to the city again.
and in particular, lush. :)

so, it was a very tiring day out in the city.
guess you can see it in the face. =/

the city was good walk and it was indeed a healthy day four. (:

day three: mr. hang over, please leave me and farmy animals here we come!

sunday.

we all woke up late and missed mass.
so we headed to coffee club for breakfast.
and the over hung feeling was being a nuisance.

i ordered a big breakfast and it was so filling and nice.
and sadly, it didnt counter attack the over hung feeling.

and jada insisted she sat next to me.
"i want to sit next to aunty irene"
as soon as she sat, the waitress gave her a colouring paper and a box of colour pencils.
see, at least they have stuff for the kids to do.

and yes, jim and mel was perhaps giving sri the killer stare!
after the drama.mama that happened the night before.

shall not elaborate on anything else.

moving on....

after breakfast, we did not know what to do.
clueless and walking around aimlessly..

the camera came out and viola a nice picture of jada and aunty irene.

lets not waste time.

we decided to do one the things on my "to.do.list"
so we headed to lone pine sanctuary.

yes before i left, i did my research on this place.
main reason why i chose that place and even mel suggested is because we can get up close and personal with the animals.

definitely something that i like. :)

snippets..

they are smart animals because when they see you carrying a cup, they know the content is for them. they dont really charge at you, but they walk your way. :p

unlike edwin, i didn't feed these pretty animals from the cup, i put their food on my palm.
not tickle.ish lah.
some of the very cute animals we saw...
cute isn't it?

and then we saw these really cute black things running around...
from the chicken family i think, you can barely see their eyes.

that's sri, still over hung and walking zombie.like in lone pine.

oh another baby here!
no, its not a dog!

oh and i had eyes on these miniature horses.
goodness, they stood still throughout. i kept calling their names, no movement. =/

and my fav. of all times.

meet DORIS!
i tell you, she was one lazy pig.
when we went, she was sleeping and so we started calling her name.
doris...doris! doris, doris!
for perhaps a good ten minutes we stood there, talking to her.
come on doris, wake up, stop sleeping. look at us, we came all the way to see you.

everytime we called her name, she oink.ed at us.

for full expression, ask me face to face, i would be more than happy to show you how she oink.ed

FINALLY, doris woke up.
she walked about for a wee bit, trying to dig up what was on the ground.
we were happy to see doris awake.
so next change,....

this is OINK!
fast asleep, we got tired of waking doris up, we didn't disturb oink. :)

then we moved on to see the koala's.
they are so adorable!

just look at them hugging the tree and sleeping...
so comel!

of course i had to get my hands on one of them at least.
photo time. (=

they eat eucalyptus plants and the place obviously smelled nice.

we went for the lorikeet feeding show.
we were given *what i am holding in the picture* and these birdies would conveniently come and sit on it and eat the oats.

these lorikeets make a lot of noise and they are very naughty, as you can see they messed up my face with oats.

classic picture of mel, scolding one of the birdies who was not being fair because it kept attacking another birdie who was trying to eat as well.

then we went to feed the kangaroos!
oh they are such nice creatures to be around.
though their poo is almost everywhere in the field too.

and when both the cousins get together, this is the outcome.
cousins here are jim and edwin.
while mel and i pretend we dont know them. (;
this shot is classic.
thank god it didnt turn around and attack fats.

and finally we went for the sheep dog show.
i was really looking forward to it ever since i saw the write up and pictures on the website.

so basically these dogs are super intelligent.
let me do a little show and tell now.

in this picture..
a yard dog is chasing the flock of sheep to the master.

the aim is to get the flock as close as possible to the master.

isn't that a good job ay?

now here we have another dog, yea, they basically need two different dogs to conduct the sheep.

i forgot what this dog was called.
but basically this dog has to make sure that all the sheep are knitted together.

imagine the picture below as the back of a truck, so all these sheeps are in the back of the truck and this little dog does its wonders by climbing on all the sheeps and making sure that there are no gaps in between them, making sure that all the sheep gets into the truck and none is left behind.

so they squeeezeeeeee!

enough of show and tell.
i really enjoyed my day in lone pine.

we had barbeque for dinner and we just relaxed the night away.

thank god by evening mr. hang over left me and i was happy that we managed to do one of my to.do's on day three, so it was rest at night and prepare for another hectic day ahead.
